day 3 (paris)

Waking up in Paris is truly a luxury!

That's not even considering our 4-star hotel, Best Western Premier Louvre St Honore. Did I mention it is one block from the Louvre?

The French certainly know what to do with the little space they have available - the hotel being 4 meters wide and 2 rooms per floor. This is the view from our only window. Beauty is not wasted ...

There was no way I could have anticipated the beauty of this city.

Or how emotional I would be seeing these landmarks for the first time in real life. Never mind that I was on the open roof of a "hop on hop off"-bus in minus 3 degrees!

Who knew that a metal structure could be this majestic ...

Yes, I saw Mona Lisa, but this was my favourite piece as I took shelter from the cold in the Louvre.

What a better way than to experience the history of Paris as the main course and the heartbeat of this city for desert:

Kong is a Bar/Restaurant that overlooks the Seine and is designed by Phillipe Starck. Try to go home before 2 in the morning - simply impossible!
