it all started with this bear

Hi, I'm Cornel and I love to knit, crochet, sew, design interiors, paint, garden, cook - basically anything creative.
This is my first attempt at blogging. I have been thinking about doing it for quite some time. Or not doing it. What if my ideas dry up, what if I forget to blog (I have 3 kids aged 13, 6 and 4 and an interior design business), can't find the time or simply lose interest (that happens often!) There are numerous projects in closets that were never finished.
Or, I could share my love of being creative with you.
So, here we go...
I spent quite a bit of time in my mom's sewing room as a little girl. She had more than 2 dozen plastic shopping bags filled with fabrics, wool for knitting, embroidery cottons, felt, lace and lots more. Playing indoors meant going through her "stuff". Dolls were dressed in scraps of fabric pinned (first) and sewed (later).
Mom also taught me how to knit (she says I was 5).
We had a little rhyme: "In, around, through and off" (in, om, deur en af = Afrikaans). It really is the simplest way to describe the knit or purl action.
So, when I was about 10, I made Little Bear. And because he is the earliest evidence I could find of my absolute love and fascination with craft, one could say that it all started with a bear.
crafting in general,
knitting

Hi Cornel,
It is almost like the bear is saying: " Hello world .. this is me !!!" ..
Does the bear have a name ... for I believe that once you name something it becomes 'real'.
I share your passion for all things creative ... though I am too, limited to time and sometimes the knowledge of how to ..??
Your idea of starting a 'creative morning' is awesome ... "something we can do while the men are working (as somebody mentioned) .. hahaha.
Just let me know and I will be there!!!
Have a wonderful day filled with plenty smiles
