She took something that doesn't belong (a weed from our garden!) and put it into something I've never used (don't know why) in exactly the right spot (just look at the colours) without me even asking! Thanks, Ma! C x
last craft share of '09

What a terrible way to start the day, but what a lovely way to spend the morning!
Our last Craft Share of the year started with a BANG! Mel's car was accidentally hit by a taxi (from behind) on the way to my house. After documenting the evidence with phone calls and photographs, she was able to drive the car here. I'm really thankfull that you (only) have a stiff neck, M!
But what a lovely way to spend the rest of the morning: a log fire was burning in my kitchen/diningroom (with it being ten degrees Celcius outside and wet, why not!) and I quickly baked us some Gluten-free Mealie muffins (recipe later this week). These were delicious and extra yummy straight out of the oven!
We were unanimous about the following: we all love our time spent crafting on such an important day of the week, we're all looking forward to the holidays (crafting of course) and we have to have a show-and-tell in January. You (my dear visitors to this blog) so often only see the birth of many a project on Fridays and not enough of what's finished. Or let me re-phrase: It is sooo much more exciting to start a new project on a Friday AND we have to finish at least some of them in the next 8 weeks!
Have a look here to see what we did in between the chatting, tea-drinking, mealie/corn muffin-eating, cosying-up-to-the-fire, coffee-drinking, not-yet-going, ok now it's over and we're all late for whatever else we had planned for the day!
what do you call a sunflower that has never seen the sun?

Dissappointed!
This is our first sunflower, at this house, ever. And it has never seen the sun, because of non-stop rain this past week. The ardent gardener and I sowed them in rows. Hundreds of them. In front of the house and the workshop. And this is our first one to show its yellow (yet dissappointed!) face. The seeds were destined to become parrot food (2 x packets). I think they'll give us and visitors to our house more pleasure than they could possibly give any parrot. All we're waiting for now is the sun ... still waiting ...

This was a photograph just waiting to be taken, about 3 weeks ago, in an effort to rediscover my more creative (thinner) self. It's the view from our poolhouse (but you have to lie flat on your tummy, otherwise the 'dotted line' wouldn't be in the middle of the photo). Here's what it looks like upside down:

What do they say about small things again ...
